Every once in a while, a book comes along that feels like it’s speaking directly to your heart — and Michal Bardavid’s Becoming a Peacock is one of those rare gems.
It’s not a fluffy self-help guide or a quick-fix manual. It’s a deeply personal, honest, and empowering look at what it really means to love yourself — especially when life, love, and self-doubt try to pull you in every direction.
It’s raw, funny, heartfelt, and deeply human. Through her own stories of heartbreak, failure, and growth, Bardavid invites you on a journey that’s as vulnerable as it is empowering.
At Stunning Motivation, we believe personal growth starts from within — and this book captures that truth beautifully.

The Metaphor That Sticks — Becoming a Peacock
Why the “Peacock”?
At the heart of this book is a beautiful metaphor: the peacock — bold, vibrant, and unapologetically itself.
Bardavid uses the peacock as a metaphor for confidence, courage, and authenticity.
A peacock doesn’t shrink itself to fit in — it stands tall, vibrant, and unapologetic.
Bardavid uses the peacock as a symbol for anyone learning to stand tall in their own skin, own their worth, and shine without needing validation from anyone else.
In the same way, she teaches that becoming a peacock means learning to value yourself no matter what happens — in love, career, or life.
Each short, story-driven chapter explores a “peacock truth”:
- A Peacock Knows It’s Worthy
- A Peacock Dares to Fail
- A Peacock Is Authentic
- A Peacock Doesn’t Judge
It’s simple, structured, and surprisingly practical. Each chapter ends with reflection prompts — bite-sized questions that help you turn insight into action.
Real, Raw, and Deeply Human
What makes this book stand out is how real Bardavid is. She doesn’t preach from a pedestal; she shares from experience.
Bardavid writes with the honesty of someone who’s been through heartbreak, failure, and healing — and she doesn’t sugarcoat any of it. She shares painful moments, from toxic relationships to self-doubt, but always circles back to compassion and growth.
Her voice is warm, unfiltered, and real. She’s the kind of guide who reminds you that self-love isn’t about perfection — it’s about permission. Permission to be yourself, to make mistakes, to say no, and to keep growing anyway.
More Than Motivation — It’s a Journey
Many self-help books talk about mindset — Bardavid embodies it.
Her background as a dance/movement therapist adds a unique, physical dimension to her message. She connects emotional healing with body awareness, making her lessons feel grounded, not theoretical.
Her stories — some tender, some tough — remind you that confidence is not arrogance, and vulnerability is not weakness. It’s that mix of psychology, storytelling, and soul that makes Becoming a Peacock stand out.

Why You’ll Love It
If you’ve ever felt stuck in self-doubt, stayed too long in a relationship that drained you, or found it hard to say “no,” this book will hit home.
It reminds you that you don’t need permission to feel good about yourself. You don’t need anyone to “choose” you to feel worthy. You already are.
One of the most powerful lines in the book says it all:
“You are worthy — without attaching it to anything external.”
Final Thoughts
