I bet you have heard about Brian Tracy. He is a motivational public speaker, sales expert, and also a best-selling author of over 80 books, including some of these famous titles…
- Eat That Frog
- Goals: How to Get Everything You Want – Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible
- Maximum Achievement
- Million Dollar Habits
- Earn What You’re Really Worth
- And much, much more.
I first learned about Brian Tracy was from his books about selling. After reading a couple of his books, I started following him and read even more books from him.
And my favorite success book from him is this – No Excuses: The Power of Self-Discipline – A great book I recommend everyone reads.
Brian Tracy has been an inspiration to me. He started from the very bottom, worked in numerous hard-labored jobs, and then somehow, he ventured into straight commission selling.
And from there, he built his sales career and started to build his own business. Today, Brian Tracy is a famous coach in the personal development industry, giving speeches and seminars across the globe, and touching millions of lives.
And I want to take this opportunity to share with you, some of the most motivational success quotes from Brian Tracy.
I hope his sayings will inspire you to pursue your dreams and live a more fulfilling life. Of course, if you love his work, make sure you check out his programs and read his books…
1. “Make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do.”
Yes, the only limits you have are the ones you created in your mind. There are no limits to what you can be, do, and have. You can achieve anything you want, as long as you set your mind right, and work on it diligently.
One of the reasons I love Brian Tracy’s books is that he demonstrates the power of possibility. He is a great example of how anyone can start from the very bottom of life, and move up to live a more successful life.
Again, there are no limits as to what you can achieve, ONLY the limits created by yourself.
2. “You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.”
Too often, we blame and make lousy excuses to justify our mistakes and failures. The thing is that we can always control our responses and emotions.
There will indeed be things that we cannot control in life – accidents, economy, weather – but we can always adjust our attitude to respond more positively.
And when you control attitude and responses, you will be able to change yourself to adapt to the situation. You become flexible. And you will become more successful.

3. “Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, ‘What’s in it for me?’”
If you want to be successful, the first thing you need to do is to learn to serve and help others. When you begin with a mindset to help and serve, you will automatically attract others. They will come to you.
Think about all the great products and all the remarkable companies out there, the reason they become extraordinary is that they have a mission to serve, to help, and to make the world a better place.
This is Starbucks’ mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time.
And this is what Elon Musk says about SpaceX:
“You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great – and that’s what being a spacefaring civilization is all about. It’s about believing in the future and thinking that the future will be better than the past. And I can’t think of anything more exciting than going out there and being among the stars.”
So, if you want to achieve great stuff, make sure you make your mission to serve and to help.
4. “Commit yourself to lifelong learning. The most valuable asset you’ll ever have is your mind and what you put into it.”
This is so true. No matter what you want to achieve in your life, the ONLY way to get there is to improve yourself and turn yourself into the right person.
Thus, as Brian Tracy said, the most valuable asset you will ever have is your mind and what you put into it.
Here’s the key to success: Commit to reading and improving yourself every day. Spend time reading and improve yourself.
The more you improve yourself, the better you will become. The better you become, the more you can achieve. Common sense.

5. “Successful people are simply those with successful habits.”
I always told myself, “Win your day and you will win your life.” And to win your day, you must develop the right habits. With the right habits, you will do the right things every day. And success will come.
Remember, you are what you do, not what you say or think you will do. Thus, develop success habits that will make you successful.
What you do every day is more important than what you do once in a while. Just like what John C. Maxwell often says…
“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”

6. “Never say anything about yourself you do not want to come true.”
Self-talk is powerful. You will become what you talk to yourself most of the time. Successful people don’t talk to themselves in a lousy and disempowering manner.
Hence, you want to develop positive self-talk that will help you achieve what you want in your life. NEVER say to yourself that you’re no good or you are not enough. Your self-talk will become your beliefs.
So, develop positive self-talk and practice affirmations. For instance, practice these positive self-talk and affirmations to condition your subconscious mind for success…
- I am destined for big success.
- I love myself for who I am.
- I forgive myself for any past mistakes.
- I can do this!
- I will tackle it from a different angle.
- This is an opportunity for me to learn something new!
Here are more resources to help you with self-talk and affirmations:
7. “Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of the event.”
Most people fail in life because they don’t see themselves as a winner or how they can win in life. In short, they don’t expect themselves to win.
Regardless of what you want to achieve, you must see yourself as a winner, and expect yourself to win.
Will Smith, the Hollywood actor once said:
“The first step is you have to say you can.”
But sadly, most people don’t believe in themselves. As a result, they don’t expect themselves to succeed. And when things become tough, they simply quit rather than push on. Never let this happens to you.
8. “The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term, is the indispensable prerequisite for success.”
Do you know how Warren Buffett, one of the most successful investors in the world, was able to amass such a large sum of money through stock investing?
Well, he is famous for his investing skills, but besides that, he is also famous for a discipline that made him into a billionaire – his ability to delay gratification and stick to his investment plan.
Most people fail to produce outstanding results in life because they lack the discipline to delay gratification.
- When they saved money, they want to spend it on something else.
- When they start an online business, they are distracted by other opportunities.
- When they start a YouTube channel, they want to see results fast and succumb to short-term rewards.
Success is a marathon, not a sprint. If you want to succeed in life, you must learn to delay gratification. Learn to say “no” to short-term rewards and start to think long-term.
9. “If you don’t set goals for yourself, you are doomed to achieve the goals of someone else.”
Ask yourself, do you have a goal or plan in life? If you don’t, you will fall into someone else’s plan.
That’s why most people are working on a job that they hate, and yet, they don’t spend time thinking and planning about their life and the things that they want.
You want to find out what you want out of your life. Without identifying your destination, how can you know what you need to do or get there, right?
So, find out what you want to achieve in your life. Learn to set empowering and exciting goals that get you going.

10. “Develop the winning edge; small differences in your performance can lead to large differences in your results.”
Confucius said:
“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
Do you know how Nike is able to sell millions of shoes every year? Well, they started small. They started by selling one shoe at a time.
Rome was not built in a day. And all you need to do is to commit to taking small steps.
Follow the Rule of Five. Take 5 little actions every day. And in a year, you will have accomplished 1,825 small wins. And these small wins will surely give a huge positive impact on your life.
Thus, start small and act right now.

11. “You have to put in many, many, many tiny efforts that nobody sees or appreciates before you achieve anything worthwhile.”
Again, you have to do it every day, no matter how small it is. Most people fail because they are not willing to take consistent action.
They thought that success is a big step or a big decision. No, success is the accumulation of small and consistent steps/decisions that you make every day.
No matter how big your goals or how bold your dreams are, as long as you are taking small steps and making progress each day, you will eventually reach your destination.
Remember, success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in, and day-out.
12. “You are fully responsible for everything you are, everything you have, and everything you become.”
You cannot change your life without taking full responsibility for it. As long as you play the blame game and make excuses, you will never get to change your life.
And why is that? Simple, because somehow, someone and something else is responsible for it. The moment you say that it is not your responsibility, guess what, you will never change it because it is not your fault.
But when you start taking 100% responsibility for your life and everything that happened, you become in control.
You may not be able to change what happened to you, but you can always change your response to change the situation for the better.
Here’s how you can take full responsibility and start creating your ideal life: 10 Ways How to Take Full Responsibility For Your Life
13. “It doesn’t matter where you are coming from. All that matters is where you are going.”
Your past doesn’t matter. What is more important is where you want to go, what you want to achieve, and what kind of future you want to create.
Have you watched Kung Fu Panda? In Kung Fu Panda 2, the Soothsayer told the Po, the panda, something that changed the way he looked at life:
“Your story may not have such a happy beginning but that does not make you who you are, it is the rest of it – who you choose to be.”
You cannot change what has happened, but you can always decide what kind of future you want.
Check out my Kung Fu Panda quotes here (Note: These quotes are absolutely inspiring).
14. “The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.”
You become what you think about most of the time. Therefore, if you constantly think and focus on your fears, guess what, you will attract fears into your life.
This is why optimism is important. You want to think positively to attract positivity into your life. You cannot litter negativity everywhere and then expect to live a positive life, right?
Similarly, if you want to be rich, you cannot have a poverty mentality. Grant Cardone used to say, “You cannot get rich thinking poor.” And he is right.
15. “The act of taking the first step is what separates the winners from the losers.”
People become successful because of what they do, not what they think. No matter how great or novel your ideas are, if you don’t act, you will never produce the results you desire in life.
The universe rewards action. And success will never fall from the sky. People don’t achieve outstanding success just because they think about it.
You have to do it. You have to take action and execute. That’s the first step to creating results.
What if you try but fail? Well, learn from it and then do it again. Improve your strategy and keep trying. How many times should you try? Until you get it.

16. “I’ve found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often.”
Luck is a numbers game. The more you do, the luckier you get.
Before I ventured full-time as an internet marketer, I was in the sales industry, selling real estate.
And one valuable lesson I learned from the sales industry is this – you can manufacture luck.
Yes, you read that right. You can manufacture and create luck.
Think about it, the more you approach and do, the more likely you are going to win and produce the result you want. Common sense, isn’t it?
Therefore, if you want to be lucky, just do more. Like Brian Tracy says, take more chances, be more active, and show up more often. And you will become lucky.
17. “Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.”
The only way to grow yourself is to venture out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to do the uncomfortable.
Most people are stuck in life because they are addicted to the soft life. They don’t venture out of their comfort zone.
And guess what, if you don’t venture out of your comfort zone and you do things like you always did, you will never make a change.
Change will only happen when you do new things, try something new, and get out of your comfort zone.
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got.
Thus, challenge yourself. Dare to do the uncomfortable. Because that’s how you can grow yourself and become someone stronger and better.
18. “The only real limitation on your abilities is the level of your desires. If you want it badly enough, there are no limits on what you can achieve.”
Ask yourself, how badly do you want it? If you are 100% committed, you will never make excuses or stop yourself from doing it.
If you are interested, you will do what is convenient, but if you are committed, you will do whatever it takes.
The difference between someone successful and someone who is not is their level of commitment. Successful people are absolutely committed to their goals and dreams. And this is why they are willing to do whatever it takes to get there.
Successful people do it even when they don’t feel like it. How about you? Do you only take action and do the work ONLY when you feel like doing it?

19. “A clear vision, backed by definite plans, gives you a tremendous feeling of confidence and personal power.”
Do you have a vision, or a goal, or a plan for what you want in life? Without a vision, goal, or plan, you will become like a lost sheep, going wherever the crowd goes.
Great people have missions, visions, goals, and dreams in life. They know what they want to do, and they have a plan of achieving it. And every day, they live their life according to their plan and work on their plan to get there.
Larry Winget has a great saying:
“Nobody ever wrote down a plan to be broke, fat, lazy, or stupid. Those things are what happen when you don’t have a plan.”
So, find out what you want out of your life. Make a plan, and work on your plan every day. Success is not going to happen by accident, it happens by design.

20. “Your life only gets better when you get better.”
Your life revolves around one person – YOU. And if you want to make your life better, you must become better.
And how do you do that? Simple, commit to self-improvement. Develop yourself, learn every day, read books, attend seminars and workshops, and commit to improvement as much as you can.
The more you grow, the more you can achieve.
If you want to earn $10,000 a month, you must develop the necessary skills, mindset, and beliefs to do that. Similarly, if you want to earn $100,000 a month, you must also develop yourself to become the person worthy of earning that income.
If you have a $1,000-a-month mentality, guess how much you will earn every month? Exactly!
So, work on improving yourself. The better you become, the more you can achieve. And your will only change when you improve and get better.
21. “The success you are enjoying today is the result of the price you have paid in the past.”
Many people have the wrong perception and think that success is created in the future. Wrong, success is created now, TODAY, not 20 years into the future.
It is what you do today that will determine what you get tomorrow.
Hence, if you want to live a great life 5 years from now, you should work on it right now, not 5 years later.
You are where you are right now because of what you have done in the past. And your present moment will become your past in the future.
So, learn the golden lesson from this Brian Tracy’s quote, your success is created now. Thus, if you want something better, you will have to work for it now.
These quotes from Brian Tracy are incredibly inspiring! I love the emphasis on taking action and being proactive in our pursuit of success. They serve as a great reminder to stay focused and determined. Thanks for sharing!
