Living a successful life is not an easy one, but that does not mean it is impossible. In fact, everyone can become successful and live the life they always wanted, if they choose to, period.
In other words, I’m saying that as long as you follow through and do what is necessary, you will be able to produce the same amazing results like all other successful people do.
There’s a set of qualities that you must adopt to transform your life. Great people are able to create outstanding success in their lives because of their mindset, their habits and their actions.
Therefore, all you need to do is to adopt the qualities of successful people. You think like they do; you believe what they believe; you develop their habits and you take action like they do.
Eventually, you will also get the results like they did. Agree?
Well, there are a lot of characteristics, mindset, habits and beliefs you can adopt from great people, so where should you start?
You can start from these 3 qualities that I’m going to share with you below. I believe that these are the 3 basic and the fundamental that you must have in order to build any success you want in life.
No matter whom you are or what you want to accomplish in your life, these are the core qualities that a successful person MUST HAVE. You must adopt them.
And here they are…
1. Always hungry for success
Are you hungry for what you want to achieve in your life? Over the past 10 years that I have spent in the personal development industry, I have seen countless of people saying that they wanted to be successful, but they are not doing anything about it.
They are not hungry ENOUGH for what they want.
How can you tell if you’re hungry for what you desire? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to achieve what you want? Or you prefer to do what is convenient than what is necessary?
You see, successful people are always hungry for what they want to accomplish. They are willing to skip meals and to sleep less to do what is necessary.
Are you willing to do that? Can you sacrifice for the things that you want?
When it comes to leisure and working on your dream, which one would you opt for?
People who are hungry are those that will always think about what they want. They think about their dreams and they talk about their goals all the time. They focus in taking action and they are always on the move.
They take action whenever possible and they learn the ropes.
On the other hand, people who are not hungry are those that will ALSO think about the success they want. But that’s about it. That’s what they will do. They think about it and never do anything about it.
Unsuccessful people say that they want to build a successful business and make their lives better, but once they got back to their comfort home, they prefer to sit in front of their TV and check their phones or play games.
Unsuccessful people are NOT hungry for what they want. They have the ideas of achieving success, but they never take it seriously.
NEVER let this be you. If you want to be successful, you must always be HUNGRY!
Be hungry for what you want in life and be hungry to do whatever it takes to achieve it. (Within ethical means of course.)
It doesn’t matter whether you have a college degree or you’re a high school dropout. As long as you have the hunger, you can succeed.
We have seen people dropout from college and people who don’t have any degree or diploma and they are able to produce outstanding results compare to many others who have better certificates from the school.
Education does not determine your success. You can still achieve your dreams and reach your goals without great results from your school.
Your language is not a barrier as well. I have seen people who don’t know how to speak proper English or don’t even know how to read go on to achieve outstanding success in their lives.
Remember, you have to be hungry for what you want. It is just like breathing. If you fall into the water and you don’t know how to swim, what will you do?
Do you struggle and try your best to stay afloat? Or do you worry about your clothes getting wet or your phone might spoil?
Of course you will struggle to breathe. And that’s the hunger to live.
You have to have the same level of hunger for success and for your dreams. Treat your dreams and your goals the same like the air that you breathe, and I’m sure you will do whatever it takes to accomplish them.
Steve Jobs said:
“Stay hungry, stay foolish.”

2. Have a strong determination
Do you have a strong determination for what you want? You see, success usually will never come to you that easily. You will have to go through some setbacks before you can achieve success.
Study the success of great people such as Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Nelson Mandela, Michael Jordan, etc; you will discover that they all went through some difficulties before they accomplish the great results.
Now listen, successful people are successful because they STAY LONGER than ordinary people. They choose to continue and they choose to try one more time. And this is where the magic happens.
All of us possessed great potential for success. We’re all destined for big success. It is just that along the journey, we will have to go through a lot of bumps. And this is where most people give up.
Whenever they tried and they don’t get the results that they want, they lose hope and they started to quit.
The key is to take all your failures as feedback and learn from them. The moment you see setback as failure, you will lose the motivation and you will eventually throw in the towel.
You need to have the ability to bounce back. You need to treat setback as feedback. You need to learn from your mistakes and only then you can improve and do much better.
This is the key to being determined and being able to produce amazing results in life.
I love the quote from Sylvester Stallone in his Rocky movie:
“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”
Read the quote above a few times and let it sinks into your mind.
It is not how hard you can hit that counts. It is how hard you can get hit and still keep moving forward that truly counts.
Right now, there’s something that you need to do. You need to make a decision that you will go for your dreams and reach your goals no matter what. You will never quit and you will never give up.
More importantly, you will never change or switch your goals. You will stick to them, take massive and consistent action until you achieve them.
Make the decision now that you will go for what you want. Commit that you will never deviate from it until you reach there.
There will be no excuses from you. If you don’t know how to do it, read, learn, ask someone who had done it, and find a solution no matter what.
Let your determination shines through and let it get you to where you always wanted to go.

3. Always in action
This is the ultimate secret to success. You have to work on what you want.
Most people will say that they want to be successful but they are not willing to do what it takes to get there.
They are not willing to spend more time and put in the commitment to learn and to take action.
Success is not about your thoughts. Success is all about taking action. Your thoughts of becoming successful are just ideas. And ideas won’t make you rich or make you successful.
You have to work on your ideas and take the action to turn your ideas into reality. This is why the majority out there are ordinary.
So think about it. If you are reading this right now, stop and seriously think about whether you are truly hungry and committed to achieve your dream.
It takes a lot of courage, action and determination to be different and to accomplish what you want in life.
Merely saying or thinking about success is not going to help. Thinking about what you want is just the first step. And most people stuck in the first step.
You need to take the second step which is to act on what you want. You need to take action.
Don’t be afraid of failure. Don’t worry about rejection and difficulties. And don’t care what they naysayers have to say. Just do what you feel is right and take massive action.
So what would happen once you took action? There are only a few possibilities…
- You succeeded. Great! If you took action and start getting the results you want, congratulations. What you need to do next is to set another higher goal and improve on your strategies. There’s always something higher and there’s always something better out there. Take more action.
- You failed. So what should you do then? Simple, you can choose to:
- Give up and quit.
- Try again until you get the outcomes that you want.
- Change your strategies and your action plan and then take action again. Obviously, this is the better way to achieve the success you want.
Now you know what to do if you failed. The answer is simple, it is either you give up and quit and never talk about it anymore, or you can press on.
If you choose to press on, change and improve your strategies. Change your game plan and do things differently. You want to get different results? Then do it differently.
When you continue to do things the same way, do expect to get back the same old results.
Dare to change. Lives are short and thus, try out more things and make your life better.
Make this characteristic your number one priority. Make it your habit.
Commit to take action every single day. Success will only come to you when you take action.
Here’s a good news, you don’t have to take massive action up front. All you need to do is to commit to take 5 small actions each day. These small actions will accumulate and over a year, you will have 1825 small successes.
Can you imagine having 1825 small victories within a year? Can you see how powerful these small actions can impact your life?
I call it the BIG 5. Do 5 things that will move you toward your goals and your dreams every day. They don’t need to be big or grand, you just need to take 5 little steps a day.
Remember what Lao Tzu said:
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”
It all starts with one simple step. So commit to do it daily. Don’t waste your life because you will never live today ever again. Make full use of it by taking 5 small steps a day.
I believe that 5 small steps a day are manageable and are definitely achievable for most people out there.
If you can’t even commit to take 5 small steps a day to reach your goal, probably what you desire is just not right for you. You should reconsider whether to go for it.

All the successful people out there possessed these 3 qualities:
1. They are always hungry for success
2. They are determined and they will never quit
3. They are always in action
Thus, make sure you are hungry for what you want to accomplish in your life. Align your dreams with your passion. Make the decision to commit to your dreams and your goals so that you will do whatever it takes until you achieve them.
Finally, commit to the BIG 5. Take 5 small action steps every day. This is the only way that will guarantee your success. When you’re not taking any action, it will be impossible to accomplish what you desire.
You must take action. So make it a habit to take 5 actions each day. Small action steps will do. Let the power of consistency be at your side.
