What Can Students Learn from the American Dream about Life and Success?

Imagine having a collective national dream that promises everyone can be great and contribute their quota to the status quo. In the simplest terms, the American dream is the belief that regard of social class, everyone can rise to a level of regard and success.

This does not constrict the citizens to follow a certain rigid idea to attain success. It teaches citizens that everybody can attain their version of success. The American dream promises hope. One can ask, what is the American dream today?

It has not changed completely. One of those ideas must change to remain constant. For college and university students, the American Dream plays an essential role in shaping their view of their country and the abundance of opportunities available.

When writing their essays, they most choose american dream essay topic. This shows how powerful the idea has become. You can check many writing services to get free samples of books and papers on the American dream.

How can the students learn from the American dream about life and success?

There are equal opportunities for everyone

Every student on different campuses needs to know equal opportunities exist for all. This will shape the student’s perspective that the country has amply equipped them to be great.

It means Mr. A has the same chances of being the next Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos as Mr. B. This is open to all genders and races in the country.

All you need to do is put in the hard work. It does not promise you everything on a platter of gold; rather, it assures you that the country is unbiased and impartial to all its citizens. This suggests that upward social mobility is possible for all.

Everyone is unique

Diversity and individual differences are what make the world a very interesting place. Individual uniqueness is a key point of the dream. Simply put, we don’t have to follow a specific blueprint to be successful as everyone can take their special route as far as it gets to the top.

The dream specifies that everyone can make it; it provides hope for all and sundry. It allows for differences to create a stronger nation. A nation where every input is held with regard is a nation that will thrive and grow exponentially.

This makes students develop their skills to the fullest, so they can contribute to the status quo. Students tend to become good citizens to make their dream lives on.

Anyone can succeed

The American dream also brings the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can achieve their own version of success in a society where everyone has equal chances for a higher social and economic position.

That’s right, this is why the concept is important even for students. Students get to prepare themselves for what’s coming after graduation. They can choose their passion, follow their hearts, choose a career they love, and succeed in their field.

It doesn’t matter what industry you venture into, as long as you are willing to work hard, delay gratification and work on a long-term goal, you can achieve the success you desire.

The key is that you need to have a vision, a goal, and a plan to get there. Most importantly, you must be committed and work hard for what you want. Anyone can succeed and live their wildest dreams if they are willing to work for it.

So, set goals, make plans, and take massive action.

Freedom

The American dream also screams freedom. This is the freedom to be whoever you want to be, as it does not infringe on your fellow citizen.

This freedom goes beyond the usual philosophical and identity freedom and includes financial freedom. The crux of the American dream is to have financial freedom. Money can be a very strong motivation. Students are encouraged to gain financial freedom to have their basic needs covered.

These needs include:

  • Shelter
  • Education
  • Food
  • Security
  • Good water

This teaches citizens to struggle to gain financial freedom legally. It means you will learn to work hard, and you will also learn commitment and planning.

The American dream shows every student, not just in America but in the world, that nothing is impossible. It also imbibes these young ones a sense of national responsibility and patriotism.

From the idea, people learn that the country’s development is the collective effort of every citizen. It makes it possible for everyone to dream and motivates them to put in the work.

Conclusion

The American dream is an immortal idea that has been carefully engraved in the country’s fabric. This dream serves as an assurance and blueprint for both younger and old citizens to follow to expand the country’s glory further. The idea promises hope, but not on a platter of gold. It also promotes equality and dispels any discriminatory ideas.

This helps students grow to respect one another and have a strong sense of patriotism. The American dream also makes room for class mobility, which means that everyone can transition from the middle or lower class to the elite class. A boy from the poorest part of the country can not only grow up to have a successful life but also can even become the president.
