Arnold-Schwarzenegger 6 rules of success

Arnold “Arnie” Schwarzenegger otherwise known as “The Terminator” is a famous actor, businessman, investor, author, philanthropist, activist, politician, and former professional bodybuilder.

So, how did this poor immigrant from a small village in Austria make it big in the United States? How did he become a seven-time winner of Mr. Olympia, Hollywood action-film icon and Republican governor? He attributes his success to six rules.

Watch this short YouTube video below where Arnie explains the 6 rules that contributed to his success in his life.

More importantly, don’t just watch. Get inspired, think, and relate the 6 rules with your life. Ponder, visualize, and imagine the kind of success you want as you go through the video.

Watch it a few more times if need to. These 6 rules are absolutely powerful and they can change your life.

1. Trust Yourself

First thing you need to do is to dig deep within yourself and figure out what makes you happy and then go for it. It doesn’t matter how crazy it may sound to others, you need to venture out and achieve it. You’ve got to have a vision of what you want to do and then do everything in your power to make that vision into a reality.

If you don’t trust yourself, who else will? You must have the courage to say “Yes” to your dreams. Believe that you can do it and then choose to do it with all your might.

“If you want to turn a vision into reality, you have to give 100% and never stop believing in your dream.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

2. Break the Rules

Follow your path and break the rules. Don’t be deterred if no one has ever been on that journey. Be a trailblazer and work hard! Think outside the box. Be the one to set the new record. Be the one to discover the next trend. Be the one to beat! Be the one to wear white after labor day.

Think about it, if you are being too afraid to break the rules, you can’t accomplish something extraordinary. Dare to try new things and dare to venture into the open waters. In order to discover new lands, you must be willing to lose sight of the shore.

“The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else. I hate that.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

3. Don’t Be Afraid to Fail

Failure is a natural part of life. Always be willing to fail. Don’t be afraid of making decisions, of reaching out for your goals. When you fail, you need to be resilient and get right back up and keep going. You have to take risks. Without taking risks, you cannot reach your full potential, you cannot exceed and push yourself.

My friend, don’t get it wrong by thinking that failure is the opposite of success. In fact, failure is part of success. Without going through any failure, you will never learn. And if you don’t learn, you cannot be successful.

“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

4. Don’t Listen to the Naysayers

Always listen to yourself and ignore those trying to sway you away from your vision and goals. Don’t listen to people trying to discourage you. You are the one that knows what you want and what you can accomplish. Listen to yourself, to your inner voice and that’s it. There will always be people who will doubt what you are capable of doing. Don’t listen to them.

If you want to make everyone happy, don’t be an entrepreneur or even chase your dreams, choose to sell ice-cream. This is your life and you get to choose and decide how you want to live it. So stop listening to those who tell you that it can’t be done or that your dream is a stupid thing.

Like what Arnie says, he loves it when someone tells him that nobody has ever done it before, because if he did it, he will be the first one to do it.

“If I would have listened to the naysayers, I would still be in the Austrian Alps yodeling.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

5. Work Hard

Whatever you decide to do, work hard at it. Don’t do things half-heartedly. Give it your all. Don’t make excuses. There are no shortcuts in life. No pain, no gain. Always pour you sweat and heart into everything you do. The task at hand is only part of it. The effort you expend will make all the difference.

Great success comes with a price. Are you willing to pay it? My friend, work as hard as possible and go the extra mile. If you are not willing to put in the hard work, then stop wishing for a good life.

“If you don’t find the time, if you don’t do the work, you don’t get the results.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

6. Give Back

Don’t forget to give back. We all struggle sometimes, and we all get a helping hand along the way. We are not where we are today without the help of others. So, remember them and help them out too when you are in a position to do so. Give something back to your family, friends, community, neighborhood, state or to your country.

“Help others and give something back. I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, its greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring your own life.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger

Bottom Line

Remember these 6 simple rules: trust yourself, break some rules, don’t be afraid to fail, ignore the naysayers, work hard and give something back. Follow them, take them to heart and go out there and accomplish your goals. For more, informative articles, check out Consumer Health Review.
